Problem
A single creator needs to manage local character-video projects, render jobs, and assets without starting with a hosted account or remote project database.
Approach
OpenCharacterFlow is a local-first character-video workbench: project state and the queue live in local SQLite, while creators can use the Demo adapter to exercise the loop or connect a local or reachable ComfyUI instance.
Current boundary
- v0.1 does not provide hosted accounts, remote rendering, payments, or a public gallery.
- The Demo adapter creates a placeholder clip for checking the workflow and does not call a model.
- Use character images, voices, and outputs only with permission, then review and label the resulting media yourself.
Results
v0.1 is public; the local SQLite queue, Demo and ComfyUI render adapters, and project.json import/export workflow are in place.
Limitations
This is a single-user local-first workbench, not a hosted multi-tenant service; Demo output is a placeholder clip and makes no generative-video or likeness claim.
